Educators Credit Union is a closed charter credit union, serving the financial needs of Southeastern Wisconsin's educational, government and health care employees, all current and past students members of Catholic parishes, as well as, existing members? immediate family. We are a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by our members.
We service Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth, Washington, and Waukesha counties with 13 convenient locations! Educators Credit Union (ECU) is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by its members. Educators Credit Union originated in Racine, Wisconsin in 1937 as the Racine Teachers' Credit Union. Although growth was slow in the early years, it was steady. In the 1970's ECU had a major growth spurt with the opening of the Kenosha and Burlington branch offices. It was then that the Racine Teachers Credit Union emerged as "Educators Credit Union". ECU now has 13 full service offices and has expanded its charter to include all those groups listed above. Although the credit union has undergone many changes in the last 67 years, ECU's mission statement remains constant. Today, with assets exceeding $658 million, ECU is one of the largest and most successful credit unions in southeastern Wisconsin. All ECU deposits are insured by the NCUSIF for up to $100,000. |
