Job Details:

This position will support our Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design Center. The intern will work under the supervision of a faculty member on one or more defined projects. Potential topics include statistical genomics, observational studies, or clinical trial methods. Specific tasks and learning objectives will be defined by the student and faculty member. The student intern is expected to commit between 10 and 20 hours a week.

Job Qualifications:
  • Good knowledge of biostatistical methods, programming, and interested in learning
  • Proficient with SAS or R statistical software
  • Excellent organizational and technical skills are of the utmost importance as are documentation skills, and interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, under the supervision and as a part of a team
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues to effectively contribute to the achievement of goals and to help foster a positive work environment
  • Performs duties as required or directed

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled in a Master degree or a PhD program in Biostatistics, or Biomedical Data Science

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Typical clinical and administrative office setting
  • Remote or hybrid work possible
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of this position with reasonable accommodation if disabled
  • May access PHI/HIPAA identifiers as part of daily tasks

Additional Information:
  • Paid position
  • 10-20 hours per week, flexible schedule
  • Duration: June to August 2023 with possibility of extension
