Purpose: The Director, Human Resources is responsible for the overall daily administration, coordination and evaluation of the entire human resource, benefits, talent acquisition, and payroll functions for the company. The Director, HR will drive culture and process. This position will help promote, implement, create, and carry out policies and procedures relating to such. The Director, HR will collaborate closely with other company leaders to help build strong employee engagement across the company. The Director, Human Resources will help develop, and lead, key HR projects/initiatives.

Essential Duties:

  • Oversees activities relating to personnel rules and regulations. Functions include but are not limited to:
  • Talent Acquisition/Staffing
  • Performance Management
  • HRIS Management & Integration
  • Benefits Administration
  • Workers Compensation
  • Leave Management
  • Payroll Administration
  • Compensation Administration
  • Employee Relations
  • Compliance and Reporting
  • HR Data/Analytics
  • Acquisition - Due Diligence & Integration
  • Review and make recommendations to executive management for improvement to the organizations policies, procedures, and practice on personnel matters.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure organization's compliance.
  • Assist executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization's annual performance and salary program.
  • Evaluate third party contracts and negotiate with vendors
  • Maintain a Benefits Plan & Retirement Savings Plan that is compliant with regulations and encourages healthy long-term savings for employees.
  • Maintain overall compliance responsibility with relevant laws and regulations including by not limited to: IRS, ERISA, DOL, NLRA, EEOC, OFCCP, DOT, HIPPA, Sarbanes Oxley
  • Resolve, respond to and manage employment litigation and consult with legal counsel as appropriate.
  • Investigate employee complaints and concerns and recommend appropriate remediation
  • Provide professional Human Resources guidance to location managers in multiple offices in multiple locations/states to assist them in fulfilling their responsibilities on personnel matters.
  • Lead and manage the human resources department
  • Participates on committees and special projects as needed

Work Experience

  • 10+ years' HR experience minimum
  • 5+ years Management experience minimum

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Environmental Industry experience preferred

Education, Certificates, Licenses, or Designations

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
  • Master Preferred
  • HR Certification Required
  • SHRM - CP Preferred
  • (S)PHR Preferred

Specific Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Intermediate knowledge of HRIS
  • Maintain HR Certification

Work Environment: While performing essential duties of this position an individual continually works indoors and may be required to sit for extended periods. Individual will be required to regularly talk, hear, see, and often reach with hands, stand, walk, use a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment.
