Job Description

Lead external capacity-building efforts by playing a key role in communication, outreach and marketing for all primary care services at Lurie Children's Hospital.

This position will work in close concert with the Divisions of Advanced General Pediatrics, Primary Care - Community Based Medicine, and Lurie Children's Primary Care leadership and clinical teams to promote programs, services, providers and to expand outreach and community engagement.

Job Duties:

  • Expand community and patient outreach network to attract new patients, with a focus on newborn volumes, served by Primary Care departments at Lurie Children's Hospital.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and continuous communication with community-based providers including Family Practitioners, OB/GYNs, midwives, MFMs, and other potential referral sources including, but not limited to, emergency departments and urgent/immediate care centers.
  • Develop, organize and facilitate patient education opportunities by developing, continuing, or expanding group events led by Pediatricians and Nursing team members.
  • Leads projects aimed at achieving strategic patient/family experience goals.
  • Demonstrates expertise of the patient-family experience survey process which includes emphasis on the effective coordination, analysis, reporting and utilization of survey and any supplemental data.
  • Plan and implement promotional strategies to increase referrals through face-to-face interactions, community -based provider office visits, educational group engagements, email marketing and social media content.
  • Works closely with Marketing and Division Leadership to align website content and marketing materials with primary care department goals.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to develop Primary Care collaterals for distribution such as mailings, newsletters, media announcements, etc.
  • Develops and maintains email communications and social media content including patient newsletters, provider announcements, and special events marketing.
  • Maintains working knowledge of operations within a primary care setting.
  • Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus on innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.
  • Other job functions as assigned.

Knowledge, skills, & abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree required and a minimum of three (3) years of professional work experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include nursing background, prior experience with pediatrics and/or obstrectrics.
  • Communications, business development, or marketing experience desirable.
  • Possesses superb internal and external communication skills and excellent writing, presentation, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with medical and allied health professionals.
  • Demonstrates strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to travel to various sites around the metro Chicago market as needed.
  • Self-starter, proactive attitude, follow-through critical.
