Plumbing Supervisor

Department: Parks

Full-time, Hourly

Hourly Rate: $51.02/hr

Job Summary

This position will be responsible for overseeing and supervising plumbing staff and the inspection, repair, installation and alteration of plumbing and related systems to protect and enhance department assets.

Work Schedule: Employee must have availability to work days, weekends, overtime, and shift rotations as needed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and related systems in Parks' facilities, buildings, pools and grounds.
  • Inspect plumbing systems and report any defects.
  • Do routine spring and fall start ups and shut downs of buildings, shelters, pools, wading pools, and golf courses.
  • Replace and repair plumbing needs based on work order requests.
  • Process purchase requests and receivers.
  • Process inventory supplies and process work orders.
  • Review blueprints, building codes and technical manuals.
  • Maintain logs and ensure relevant safety codes and regulations are implemented.
  • Participate in hiring of plumbing staff and provide daily supervision including job assignments, time approvals, performance appraisals, workforce development, and establishing priorities to ensure the success of the plumbing section and the department's strategies.
  • Prepare and monitor annual plumbing budget to ensure responsible fiscal management.
  • Inspect and maintain all equipment and tools related to the performance of job duties.
  • Participate in special project teams and community outreach efforts as well as marketing and communication efforts.
  • Prepare estimates and material lists and interpret blueprints, sketches and specifications.
  • Create scopes-of-work and monitor and advise on contractor work.
  • Participate in project oversight and capital projects.
  • Locate plumbing infrastructure that include sanitary sewers, storm sewers, water utilities and other related systems.
  • Use of Equipment, Tools and Machinery - Operate vehicles, air compressors, trade related equipments, computers, general office equipment and hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, License/Certification and Experiences

  • Current residency within the State of Wisconsin upon application required
  • Valid WI Driver's License required and must be maintained throughout incumbency
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • At least five (5) years of work experience as Journeyman Plumber required.
  • At least five (5) years or more of work experience in a Supervisory or Management role required.
  • Related field State of Wisconsin Indentured Apprenticeship completion certificate required.
  • Master Plumber licensed in the State of Wisconsin required.
  • Cross connection control tester certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with blueprint design review preferred.
  • Confined Space training completion certification preferred.

Note: This Original Examination is open to current residents of the State of Wisconsin. The selection process will be job related and will consist of one or more of the following: education and experience evaluation; written, oral, or performance tests, or other assessment methods.
