Job Description

The Services Product Manager is responsible for working with partner teams, as well as Internal Strategy, Customer Experience, Sales, Delivery, Development, and Marketing teams to own, manage, develop andgrow a suite of products and services that have an impact on Education organizations. This position is key in defining and executing on product vision for owned products as well as the strategy to achieve it.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Collaborate with stakeholders on feature and product releases
  • Be the subject matter expert on owned product area and associated programs. These will be all education-focused solutions relating to how schools use Microsoft for Education products
  • Work with teams to validate product ideas, gather information, and evaluate opportunities
  • Understand and track market trends and needs to identify opportunities to improve customer experience, solve customer problems, and increase sales
  • Develop and cultivate strong relationships with customers, key Microsoft contacts, and internal teams to gain customer and market insight
  • Evaluate and communicate the performance of the owned products and make strategic recommendations and decisions
  • Develop and share the strategic direction and roadmap of the product lines and the decisions behind it
  • Align with Sales, R&D, Marketing, Operations, and other internal and partner teams to support new and ongoing initiatives around owned products
  • Create clear product documentation such as user stories, wireframes, process flows, and/or requirements where applicable

Other Responsibilities

  • Market research and validation
  • Prioritization and management for owned product lines
  • Build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Support opportunities and programs to promote the products and ensure customer success
  • Participate in quarterly presentations on development and product performance

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of Software/Services Product Management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience using data to make informed decisions
  • High level of customer empathy and desire to create and promote products that make an impact
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders
  • Ability to think strategically and balance customer and business needs
  • Strong prioritization and decision-making skills
  • Experience managing multiple product lines or a portfolio of related products
  • Experience creating artifacts such as wireframes, user stories, functional requirements, and business requirements for products and features
  • Comfortable conducting customer interviews to understand customer needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in K12 Education or Ed Tech
  • Comfortable with collaborating in effective, cross-functional teams
  • Enjoy planning and managing complex projects and initiatives that align with company vision
  • Comfortable with prioritizing the work of a software development team
  • Previous experience working effectively work remote, geographically distributed teams
  • Experience with and certifications in Pragmatic framework
